Welcome to the inaugural newsletter from the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE). The Centre was established by LMETB in January of this year through funding from Enterprise Ireland and SOLAS. The Centre’s focus is on providing skills-oriented training for advancement in manufacturing technologies, processes and operations to enable Irish companies to innovate and thrive in an increasingly challenging global marketplace.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we’ve been working diligently to identify the best courses and trainers available in the market to ensure the highest quality training for our learners. We’ve also been busy acquiring state-of-the-art equipment in Robotic/Cobotics, Industrial Control, Precision Engineering, Industry 4.0 training lines, Additive Manufacturing and Virtual Reality Welding for the Centre to provide the best hands-on learning experience.
We ran our first training course in August. Through the months of September, October and November we’ve delivered
a wide variety of courses, both online and classroom-based. We’ve engaged with companies large and small across the entire country and had fantastic feedback on what the Centre is doing.
We look forward to an exciting year in 2022 as the Centre opens its door to become fully operational, allowing companies and their employees to get hands-on with our state-of-the-art equipment. We’ve also been listening to you! As a result, we will be expanding our training offering for next year with many new and exciting courses.
